Dimitrios Katsaros - Principal Lawyer & Founder at Katsaros & Associates Melbourne

Principal Lawyer & Founder

Dimitrios Katsaros

Political Science, Sociology, Commercial Law, Migration Law

Employer Sponsored Visa Specialist of the Year 2017 • Employer Sponsored Visa Specialist of the Year 2018 • Migration Law Practice Partner of the Year (Nominated) 2024

Dimitrios did not start Katsaros & Associates to build another law firm. He started it to build something different.

Fifteen years in law. Five of those at the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. Federal Courts. High-stakes prosecution. The kind of work that teaches you precision or punishes you for the lack of it.

Then he made a choice. Build something of his own.

Today, he leads operations in Melbourne, Dubai, and Athens. He handles the cases other lawyers walk away from: AAT appeals, Federal Court reviews, Section 501 cancellations. The matters where one mistake costs someone their future.

His approach is direct. No fluff. No sugarcoating. You will know exactly where you stand and what needs to happen next.

He also mentors every lawyer in the firm. They did not learn from textbooks. They learned from sitting in on hearings and reviewing submissions line by line.

Alice Turner - Migration Lawyer at Katsaros & Associates Melbourne

Migration Lawyer

Alice Turner

Alice has been with Katsaros & Associates since 2015. Ten years. Not a job: a commitment.

She started under Dimitrios and worked her way up to Lawyer and Office Manager. Today, she handles partner visas, skilled migration, and citizenship applications from first consultation to approval.

She also keeps the office running. Deadlines, client updates, document tracking: if something needs to happen, Alice makes it happen.

Call the office and she will know your case. Not because she looked it up. Because she remembers.

Alice went through the Australian immigration system herself. She knows the waiting, the uncertainty, and the relief when the grant finally comes through. That shapes how she treats every file: not as paperwork, but as someone's future.

Andrea Di Lieto - Lawyer at Katsaros & Associates Melbourne

Lawyer

Andrea Di Lieto

Master of Laws (Italy), Juris Doctor (Australia)

Alumni: County Court Victoria

Member: Law Institute of Victoria

Andrea's path to Australian immigration law started in Italy. He completed a Master of Laws there, then made a decision: move to Australia and start again.

New country. New legal system. New qualification. He earned a Juris Doctor and gained admission as an Australian lawyer. He knows what it means to migrate because he did it himself.

Before joining Katsaros & Associates, Andrea spent six years as a Judge's Associate at the County Court of Victoria. Six years watching how judges think, how cases succeed, and how they fall apart. That shows in his work: precise, methodical, nothing left to chance.

Today, he handles complex submissions, strategic advice, hearings, and appeals. He brings calm when clients feel overwhelmed and clarity when the path forward seems uncertain.

Kaushiki (Kiki) Vatsa - Legal Researcher at Katsaros & Associates Melbourne
EnglishHindi
Legal Researcher

Kaushiki (Kiki) Vatsa

LL.B., LL.M. Candidate (University of Melbourne)

Alumni: University of Melbourne

Kiki is a paralegal at Katsaros & Associates with one foot in practice and one in the books. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and is completing her Master of Laws at the University of Melbourne. Admission to legal practice is next.

Before joining the firm, she worked in public service. She understands how government departments think, how policy shapes decisions, and how to work within systems that were not designed to be easy.

Her strength is research. When a case needs a nuanced argument, a legislative detail, or evidence that others would miss, Kiki finds it. Partner visas, skilled migration, complex evidentiary matters: she supports them all with the same methodical preparation.

Nothing leaves her desk incomplete. Nothing gets missed. Quiet, reliable, and sharp.

Khanh Lam (Lou) Hoang - Legal Administrative Assistant at Katsaros & Associates Melbourne
EnglishVietnamese
Legal Administrative Assistant

Khanh Lam (Lou) Hoang

LL.B. (Hons) Candidate (La Trobe University)

Lou is the youngest member of the team at Katsaros & Associates. She is also one of the most organised.

She is currently completing a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at La Trobe University and serves as Vice President (Sponsorship) for the La Trobe Law Students' Association. Building a legal career before she has even graduated.

At the firm, Lou works as a Legal Administrative Assistant. Client documents, file organisation, deadline tracking: the work that keeps cases moving forward. She handles it with precision and without fuss.

What stands out is her attention to detail. Nothing slips through. Nothing gets forgotten. In immigration law, one missing document can delay an approval by months.

Reliable, warm, and eager to learn. The kind of person who shows up early and asks what else needs doing.
