Internship Program at Katsaros & Associates Immigration Lawyers Melbourne

Internship Program
Launch your legal career.
Today's intern, tomorrow's solicitor.
The program

Bridging study and practice

At Katsaros & Associates, we are committed to supporting the next generation of legal professionals by providing meaningful, practical and immersive internship opportunities within a busy and dynamic legal practice.

Our Internship Program is designed to bridge the gap between university studies and professional practice, giving aspiring lawyers the opportunity to experience real legal work, develop practical skills, and gain insight into the operation of a successful law firm.

Opportunities

Structure and timing

Internship positions are available throughout the year and applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Most internships are structured as one month full-time, or a pro-rata equivalent arrangement where agreed.

Internships are conducted from our Melbourne office and provide participants with direct exposure to legal practice in a professional and supportive environment.

What you can expect

Genuine exposure, not just observation

Unlike many observational internships, our program is designed to provide genuine exposure to legal work and the day-to-day operation of a modern law firm. Depending on practice requirements and your level of experience, interns may have the opportunity to:

Legal research

Assist with legal research across live immigration matters.

Drafting

Draft correspondence and legal documents.

Client conferences

Observe client conferences with experienced practitioners.

Training sessions

Attend internal training sessions.

Case preparation

Assist with file management and case preparation.

Legal ethics

Develop an understanding of legal ethics and professional obligations.

Practice management

Gain insight into client service and legal practice management.

Future opportunities

Successful completion does not guarantee paid employment with the firm. However, placements let both the firm and the intern assess long-term suitability. From time to time, outstanding interns may be considered for:

  • Legal Assistant positions
  • Paralegal roles
  • Graduate Lawyer positions
  • Other employment opportunities as they become available
